Oriental Orange Broccoli Chicken
  1. 1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken (cut into bite size pieces)
  2. 3 tablespoons coconut oil or ghee
  3. juice of 2 oranges or tangerines
  4. zest from 1 orange (try to use an organic one since you’re zesting the peel to avoid pesticides)
  5. 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
  6. 3 tablespoons coconut aminos or wheat-free soy sauce
  7. 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce or sriracha
  8. 3 green onions, chopped (optional)
  9. 2 cups of broccoli florets
  10. 1 tablespoon of raw honey
  11. 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  1. In a medium size sauce pot, add the orange juice, zest, ginger, coconut aminos and chili garlic sauce or sriracha and honey.
  2. Set over medium heat and let simmer to reduce and thicken while the chicken and broccoli cook.
  3. In a sauté pan, heat 3 tablespoons of the coconut oil or ghee, over medium high heat.
  4. Add the chopped chicken and broccoli florets and cook until a nice brown crust has developed on the chicken pieces and the broccoli is tender, about 6-8 minutes.
  5. Add the chicken to the saucepan and stir to coat with the orange sauce.
  6. Serve topped with thinly sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
